Deterrence

We build real “deterrence” programs for our clients that are designed to stop future criminal behavior.

Being a SLED Certified Private Security Company, we can protect your property with the same authority that your local police department has. Our SLED Certified Security Company is well trained and continues to offer training to help other businesses and security companies keep current in their training as well.

Our Private Security Company services are an extension of your local police department. Unfortunately your local law enforcement cannot spend too much time in your neighborhood or on your business property, it’s not a reflection of bad policing in your area, it’s simply the lack of officers to cover large counties. The police departments #1 responsibility is public safety. Our #1 responsibility is our clients and their property safety.

Security Guard Training

Who do we train for SLED Private Security Guard Training?
1. Individuals who want to start a new career.
2. Companies who are getting behind on training to certify their officers.
3. Re-certifying to keep your annual SLED card active.
4. If the Class size is large enough, we will come to your area with our “Mobile Setup” and conduct the training. To price this, we will have to know the location and class size.
5. Individuals from other states who want to work in SC as a SLED Security Officer. Yes, some individuals work for companies that do business in SC or they live close enough to the SC border and would like to work for a SC Security company. Either way, you must get a SLED Card.

Class Dates and Pricing for this training

The following Below, explains the class you should take.

1st, remember this, if you want to carry anything such as a Baton, Taser, OC Spray, etc….you must be trained to use it and have documented proof on you while working a site.

SLED does not regulate Tasers, Batons and OC Spray, meaning, if you want to carry these, you must go to someone who trains for these. You must bring your “Primary Plus” paperwork and have the instructor sign it for the item you Certified in.

Primary Basic: (Mandatory) A basic knowledge of what you can do as a legal SLED Certified Security Officer on the property you protect. To become an ” Unarmed Officer”. This class is all you will need to be a basic SLED Certified Security Officer. Taking this class does NOT include weapons, Handcuffs, Use of Force and Authority to arrest. You will be able to work as a SLED Security Officer and  wear a uniform, observe and report with no arrest authority if you choose this class alone. 4 hour class.

Primary Plus: (Optional) This class is basically an upgrade to certify you in many things such as Handcuffing, Use of force and Handguns. This class gives you the same authority as a Sheriffs deputy on the property you protect. YOU CANNOT take this class unless you have been to the “Primary Basic“. You can take both “Basic” and “Plus” in the same day. 8 hour class.

To break it down: In other words, there are really 3 types of classes,

  1. Primary basic as explained above. This is “Unarmed” and “No Arrest Authority“.
  2. Primary Plus. You take this class so that you can carry handcuffs and have “Arrest Authority“. But, still “Unarmed“.
  3. Primary Plus with Weapons. This is the cream of the crop. This class gives you everything. When completing this class you will have the documentation to proceed to get your Armed SLED Security Card. It gives you the same Authority as a Sheriffs deputy on the property you protect.

SLED Certified Officer Training

SC Security Officer Training Center

with SC Private Security

Starting in Jan. 17, 2017, All Security Officers in SC who are SLED Certified must take the minimum class “Primary Basic”.

This page has all the explanations of all our Training and Pricing as well (near the bottom).

If you are going to carry a Handgun, Handcuffs, Taser, OC Pepper Spray or anything on your duty belt, you must take the “Primary Plus” class as well.

There is a lot of information here. Be sure to glance at the entire page from top to bottom.

….

Primary Basic: (Mandatory) A basic knowledge of what you can do as a legal SLED Certified Security Officer on the property you protect. To become an ” Unarmed Officer”. This class is all you will need to be a basic SLED Certified Officer. Taking this class does NOT include weapons, Handcuffs, Use of Force and Authority to arrest.

Primary Plus: (Optional) This class is basically an upgrade to certify you in many things such as Handcuffing, Use of force, Handguns, Taser and OC Pepper Spray. This class gives you the same authority as a Sheriffs deputy on the property you protect. YOU CANNOT take this class unless you have been to the “Primary Basic“. Primary Plus can be broken down many ways as explained below.

To help you understand “Primary Plus” better:

A. You can ask for Authority to arrest, Use of force and Handcuffing with the Laws and nothing else, no weapons at all. This is the bare minimum for “Primary Plus”. If you take this, it allows you to carry handcuffs and make arrests.

B. You can certify in Taser and NOT with a handgun or OC Pepper Spray.

C. You can certify in OC Pepper Spray only and NOT do the handgun and Taser.

D. You can certify in the handgun only and NOT do the OC Pepper Spray or Taser.

E. You can certify in all of the above and become a “Premium” more marketable officer for any agency that is ready to hire.

F. With options B, C and D….you will have handcuffing, authority to arrest and laws as well.

To break it down: In other words, To become a “mall security guard” all you need is Primary Basic because usually they don’t let you have too much authority. However, everything an officer needs to carry on his duty belt for example handguns, Taser, OC Pepper Spray, Batons and Handcuffs will have to be trained by a person that is Certified to train you with these weapons. This training falls under the Primary Plus Training. WE OFFER THIS TRAINING.

For Taser classes, click here.

For OC Pepper Spray classes, click here.

For Weapons (Handgun) classes, click here

Here is what you need to know:

  1. The NEW REGULATIONS have really helped Security Officers. Now, you can hold more than 1 SLED Card. In the past, a Security Officer couldn’t work for more than 1 company….now you can. This is a great thing because some companies need part time Officers. So, you can be an Unarmed Officer at 1 company and become an Armed Officer at another. This also allows Officers to get more hours by being flexible working for more than 1 company. YOU WILL GET A SLED CARD FOR EACH COMPANY YOU WORK FOR.
  2. All SLED Certified Officers are required to have “Primary Basic” at a minimum.

SLED Certified Officer Training

SC Security Officer Training Center

with SC Private Security

Starting in Jan. 17, 2017, All Security Officers in SC who are SLED Certified must take the minimum class “Primary Basic”.

If you are going to carry a Handgun, Handcuffs, Taser, OC Pepper Spray or anything on your duty belt, you must take the “Primary Plus” class as well.

….

Primary Basic: A basic knowledge of what you can do as a legal SLED Certified Security Officer on the property you protect. To become an ” Unarmed Officer”. This class is all you will need to be a basic SLED Certified Officer. Taking this class does NOT include weapons, Handcuffs, Use of Force and Authority to arrest.

Primary Plus: This class is basically an upgrade to certify you in many things such as Handcuffing, Use of force, Handguns, Taser and OC Pepper Spray.
