So, we are offering something new, Private Classes so no one has to wait anymore.
If you want a class, follow these steps:
- Email us and tell us when you would like your class. Email us 3 possible days you have in mind so that we can evaluate and decide which day works best for all of us.
- Once we have agreed on a day, you will be asked to secure your day with a Full Payment in advance with a credit card over the phone. Details will be in your email.
- Once your class is secured with a payment, you will be sent a receipt and confirmation of your class details.

Where exactly is the Class?
Our New location is in the 81 shopping plaza in Piedmont.
However, please read the directions because Google has the address wrong!!
You should “GOOGLE” Alpha Printing in Piedmont SC” this way it takes you right to our front door as we are in the same store front.
We don’t post the address because 90% of the time, GOOGLE takes you up the road.

No matter what class you choose, these are the books you should get familiar with.
The Unarmed Primary Basic Class (Class 0025)
The Unarmed Primary Plus Class (Class 0026 and 27)
Remember, to be Armed (Class 0027), you will be required to review the 2 books in class, take 2 tests and then go the the shooting range to qualify with the weapon you choose to carry on your post.
SLED Offers 2 classes. The Primary Basic and Primary Plus classes. Like we said, in reality there are 3 classes because there are 3 types of Officers you can be.
However, not to confuse you, we try to explain below.
- An Unarmed Officer with no Arrest Authority mostly used at “Malls” and department stores. This class is the “PRIMARY BASIC” Class.
- An Unarmed Officer WITH Arrest Authority. Having “Arrest Authority” with no weapon or means to protect yourself is not advised. This class is the “PRIMARY BASIC” and “PRIMARY PLUS” Class.
- An Armed Officer WITH Arrest Authority. This class is the “PRIMARY BASIC”, “PRIMARY PLUS” and the “Qualification Armed portion at the shooting range”.
No matter what class you choose, we only supply the training documents for the class you paid for.
If you want finger prints, photo for SLED, application filled out, etc, these are additional fees that can be discussed when you email us to secure your class.

The 3 types of Classes
Class 0025
Primary Basic, No Weapons / No Arrest Authority
This is the bare minimum class you can take.
This class gives you the authority to work as a UN-Armed SLED Private Security Officer. Your Authority will be only to Observe and Report. You Will Not have arrest powers. You wont be allowed to carry handcuffs, a weapon, baton, pepper spray or anything except a whistle and flashlight.
Time: 4 hours / Varies.
Price: $208.00
Again, with this class, you cannot carry a Taser, OC pepper Spray or anything. You will be a SLED Private Security Officer once you get hired by a Private Security Company, but just to Observe and Report.
This price ONLY provides your training documentation. If you want finger prints and other stuff, you must let us know prior so we can price it for you.

Class 0026
Primary Basic and Primary Plus taken together WITHOUT Weapons qualifications.
This class gives you the authority to work as a UN-Armed SLED Private Security Officer. Your Authority will be just like a sheriffs deputy on the property you are contracted with EXCEPT you will not carry a Lethal Weapon (handgun). You need this class to carry Pepper Spray, Taser and a Baton.
You will still have to be trained in anything you carry on your duty belt when it comes to Lethal and Non lethal weapons.
Time: 6-8 hours / Varies

Class 0027
Primary Basic and Primary Plus taken together W / Weapons qualifications.
This class gives you the authority to work as a Armed SLED Private Security Officer once you get hired by a Security Company and SLED has approved your application. Your Authority will be just like a sheriffs deputy on the property you are contracted with. For this class, you must bring the weapon you want to qualify with.
Time: 8 hours / Varies
Price: $312.00. We supply range, weapon (if needed), class training.
Not included:
Range fees and Target. You should allow for $35.00 to cover this.
You must bring Ammo also….if you do not have Ammo, you will have to purchase this at the range.
